Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, located in the heart of Baltimore’s inner city, acknowledges that God sent this young pastor to them knowing the future and heightened level of ministry He had specifically planned for this church before the beginning of time. Called to the profound responsibility was the 29-year-old pastor of Gospel Tabernacle in January, 1991, the then Rev. Reginald L. Kennedy, like the biblical Jeremiah, is known as the “weeping prophet.” And like Jeremiah, the “word of the Lord” came to him as a young child that he was called of God to do a great work.

Rich History of the Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church
In April 2008, Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church celebrated 77 years of the church's anniversary, 35 years of preaching for the Pastor and 17 years of pastoral leadership for Reginald L. Kennedy.

A week-long celebration saluted the contribution and impact this pastor has had on the saints of GTBC, the community and Baltimore City. The celebration included this pastor's relationships with other pastors and leaders and how those relationships have influenced the ministry and direction of this great man of God...

Dr. Melvin Clinton Green and the Christian Community Church

hey have been connected since the early 1990s. In particular, for the past 15 years, as Christian Community's culinary staff warmed the stoves of their lower level dining hall, Bishop Kennedy has warmed the upper level sanctuary with the fire of the Word on those cold November mornings for their annual Men's Day Prayer Breakfast.
